At the age of 49 I was determined to made a change in my life. I was getting ready to turn 50 in six months and wanted to look fly for my 50th birthday party. I joined the Raytown YMCA and attended a 6am class three days a week. I was very consistent and determined to get fit. I started looking at being 50 and what would that look like for me being a mother & grandmother at that time. I changed my eating and continued to workout diligently. My commitment to fitness became so important in my life.
I was FLY for my 50th birthday party and I felt awesome and the compliments boost my ego. My 6 am instructor encouraged me to get certified and to start teaching classes. I didn’t realize at that time in 2007 that this would be my passion.
I became a certified fitness instructor and started teaching classes. It excited me seeing how I was able to keep a class motivated to workout for a hour. I then became a certified personal trainer and opened up my own business Fit 4u IS 4U. The process of being a personal trainer and being able to be on a health and fitness journey with your clients is the most rewarding experience. To see dedicated and progress within each individual.
